The MTG company claims that the hair will grow an inch a month if you use the product weekly. I personally noticed my mare's tail slowly growing out with proper nutrition, care, and MTG monthly. It comes in a good sized bottle and lasts quite a while if you use it every two weeks or monthly. It does work. it's not terribly expensive. The rate at which the hair grows and the receptiveness to MTG will depend on your horse's genetic potential to grow hair and the health of the follicles.

Good and proper nutrition is the only thing that will improve hair growth. From a biological and physiological standpoint, there is nothing that you can apply topically to effect hair and/or hoof growth. It is not scientifically possible. Improve the diet and use proper grooming and that is the best you can do. It will take much time to see improvement. Some horses are just not genetically able to produce long, thick manes and tails. I have a beautiful QH with the most gorgeous tail, but his mane (while pretty in color) is think and whispy and just will not grow very long or even at all no matter what I do. He gets the best of everything. His coat is lovely, it is just the mane that is lacking. Again, it is just his genetic make-up that produces these aspects.

Yeah I have before and after pictures to show you too. In 2008 I bought a poor condition little paint horse off the side of a mountain and he had barely any tail or mane so I started using MTG and braiding his tail. I would re-braid it ever 2 weeks but EVERY OTHER DAY apply the MTG to the top of his tail around his tail bone and massage it in. Now it is 2011 and he has a nice full tail (not quite to the ground yet but getting there)
this is him before:

I have never used it for my mares tail, but she had a nice scratch on her face that was healed for a long time, but with no hair growth. I applied MTG and the very NEXT day there was hair growth... by the 2nd application, the scratch was GONE. Amazing stuff.

MTG is very oily and smells bad. I don't know about tail growth, as I haven't tried it for that. I use MTG on my horses neck and shoulders. She is very allergic to flies, and rubs herself raw in the summer. The MTG seems to help her heal and promote faster hair growth on her neck.

Don't listen to any bs marketing techniques. I assure you; there is absolutely no product that will increase the growth rate of your horses tail.
Just keep it healthy with good nutrition and make sure she doesn't rub it on anything to cause breakages- you can also keep a loose braid or knot. Give it a trim at the bottom every few months to stop it looking wirey :-)

The hair is not just a part of your body and it is a symbol of beauty, status and health. It is important for you to take proper care of your health in order to prevent early hair loss. Learn here https://bitly.im/aOnCA It is not a very serious problem and with a little bit of caution you will be able to prevent further hair loss. There are certain uncontrollable factors like pregnancy conditions or certain illness or genetic factors that will result in hair loss. But, this does not mean that you cannot do something about your hair loss.

I have used MTG for many things, among them was hair growth. It works very well as long is it is really massaged into the skin, and is used regularly.
