Hi. Period pains are very natural, and are preparing you for the pains of childbirth! I understand that they can be very painful. I'd suggest eating a banana, as this can help some people who have period pains. May as well give it a try! Then I'd suggest having a bath, and relaxing, perhaps you could read a book in the bath to distract you from your period pains. Put your clothes on a hot radiator while you're in the bath. Then when you come out of the bath, you can put on your warm clothes, so you don't get too cold. You could then make yourself a mug of hot chocolate with marshmallows. Chocolate actually releases endorphines in the brain - these trigger the happy hormones! So it is the perfect thing to consume during your period. Then you could just stay in bed and watch a movie, with a hot water bottle over your stomach if the pains are still there. I hope this helps :-)

As someone else said, it could be a deficiency in magnesium, in which case a vitamin supplement containing magnesium will help. If regular painkillers like paracetamol or ibuprofen don't help then you can buy co-codamol over the counter at chemists which I've always found works well when all else fails.

Take pain meds, (aspirin perhaps). Drink something hot, and place a hot pad on your belly where you are experiencing the cramps.

magnesium!! a deficiency in magnesium causes HORRIBLE period pains (you can google it for more information)... you might want to take a magnesium supplement. if that doesn't help to take away the pain, take a pain killer. (but it's better to take a magnesium supplement, because pain killers (and any other medication) takes away nutrition.

Source(s): Personal experience & I research A LOT about nutrition on my own!!
