Car Engine runs cold, don't know what the problem is.?
i have an 01 Ford Focus. Took it in to the shop Friday because the check engine light had been on for a while. Mechanic told me that the Temp Sensor was telling my engine that it was running cold; so he replaced it.
Went to work this morning (Monday) and 20 mins into the drive my the thermostat hadn't moved off cold and the check engine light came back on. 5 mins later the temp guage moved to the normal place.
My drive is 30 min's on the freeway (between 75 & 80 MPH the entire way). i felt the hood of my car, and it wasn't as warm to the touch as it should be.
Is this a thermostat problem, or something else? Thanks for any help!
i certaintly don't want my car thinking it's running cold though; as it will eat alot more gas than its supposed to and it already costs about $29's to fill her up lol if i can drop that by getting the problem fixed and add more milage, it will be much better economically ;)

you're able to no longer be driving this in any respect if the 'examine engine' easy is on. injury might desire to be happening to the aspects on your engine. The fault might desire to be in the gas equipment or ignition. notably much genuinely, removing the spark plugs and a minimum of cleansing them up will treatment this concern. changing them is greater appropriate. what's in all risk happening is that when the engine is chilly, the gas isn't combusting suitable using a mix of undesirable atomisation and susceptible or risky sparks from badly fouled or worn spark plugs. while it gets warmer, the gas evaporates greater thoroughly and creates gas that's greater ignitable inspite of defective spark plugs. the priority it truly is that with a regular engine, risk is that the engine administration equipment is responding to the evidentially undesirable combustion overall performance by capacity of added increasing the richness of the air/gas combination. this implies that greater unburnt gas is getting into the exhaust equipment than familiar, even without the undesirable combustion to function to it. it truly is in no way stable for the catalytic converter or the exhaust probe - in basic terms changing the probe will fee a minimum of a million/2 a ton (self in large condition). greater appropriate carry out the technique above quickly.

i wouldnt see that as a problem. if it runs smooth than dont bother with it. colder the better, check your heat and make sure it works other than that id be happy with it
