Why won't sony vegas pro recognize my camera?

im trying to use the "capture video" feature and it isn't recognizing my camcorder.

my camcorder is an HD Sony Handycam, HDR-CX350

can anyone please help me?? guaranteed 10 points for helpful advice

    It's not that Sony vegas pro won't recognize your camera? it's because windows does not recognize your camera. You should have a CD that came with the camcorder have you installed the cameras (USB) hardware drivers off the CD
