Can I bring my medicine on a plane?

I am a medical marijuana patient in the state of California. If I were to take a plane from my home to another city within California, would I be allowed to take my medicine on the plane? Also, is my recommendation honored by other state governments? And if I can take it on the plane, do I check it in, or carry it on? And should I declare it, or just pretend like I don't have it?

Announcing travel with MMJ is not recommended.

Within CA travel without alerting authorities. There are a few airports that taught in State safe flight with MMJ. Marijuana is not ALLOWED and needs to always be treated with care. Not many States have reciprocity (check procon.org) / recognizing another State's paperwork.

If marijuana is illegal in the state you are traveling to, then you are breaking the law. But if you are staying in California (which i think you are), then you should be fine. It would be my advice to carry it on with you so that you can provide supporting documents. But don't declare it right away.

The TSA has no regulations regarding possession and transportation of medical marijuana. However, it is a crime under Federal law.

if TSO's do come across marijuana, SOP requires them to contact local law enforcement and it is up to the authorities to evaluate the circumstances - this is why you are required to carry your state issued cannibis card or whatever documentation you have indicating that you are legal (locally) to possess and use medical marijuana.

Best thing to do is to contact the police and let them know in advance what you are doing and they are best qualified to let you know what to do.

Yes, they sell antibiotics in the airport so you can have it through security and on the plane.
