non supported battery message on phone?

My samsung cellphone won't charge. When I took out the battery and put it back it, it says "unable to charge. Non supported battery. See user manuel. I don't have my user manuel.

    This message can appear if the voltage of the battery is abnormal or if a battery that isnt a genuine samsung battery is used with the phone. It displays the message as a warning to the owner to change the battery or check it.

    I would recommend getting a new battery as this is most likely the cause of the fault. this message may also appear if the software of the phone is corrupt or theres some other internal hardware fault.

    As for the user manual, it should be downloadable via samsungmobile.com and available for free. search your phone model number and a link should appear and open on adobe acrobat.
