How much grain to feed my lamb!!?

So Im in FFA (future farmers of America)..this is my 2nd year. I should be getting my lamb soon and I KNOW that not many people give them grain like they should (I think only me and 2 others do). Anyways, when I get him Im gonna work with him almost every day and feed him the grain he needs...does anyone know about how much he should consume in one day? Or even one week?

Yes, he is a market lamb...so I am trying to give him weight, but not fat..im going to excersize him.

THANKYOU!!

I raise pigs for FFA, but i have close contact with the lambs in the barn. My friends feed their lambs between 1-2 lbs of feed twice a day. The amount fluctuates due to the amount of weight the lamb gains from the feed. Our instructor will cut the feed if the lamb's fat stores are too "fatty", and will increase the amount of feed if the lamb lacks muscle tone. If you exercise the lamb often (at least everyday) then he'll need more feed than usual to make up for the energy he expends running around the pasture. I hope this helped a bit :)

`it really just depends on how often you pasture it. in the summer when the grass grows faster and better not to much if any but in the winter depending on there size and on the type of grain 12-24 ounces. also feed a alfalfa mix with timothy grass and blue stem grass this is high in protein and will cause the hair to grow out better.
