How much does a 100,000 mile tune up cost on a '01 chevy blazer?
So just last night my "service engine soon" light went on, and my car has about 95,300 miles on it. I'm guessing cuz it's close to 100,000 miles it needs a tune up. I've never owned a car before so I know nothing about whatever tune ups are, so I'm trying to figure out how much it would cost on my car. What is the average? Would it be cheaper to have a friend do it? Please help, I really know absolutely nothing about cars and I don't wanna get ripped off :(
Even if it is something wrong I still need to know how much it will cost for the tune up because I'll have to get that done soon.
I got a computer check/scan for the service engine soon light and it was code: P0410
System Air injection system fault
Explanation:
The air injection system is monitored for faults
Probable cause:
1. Circuit relay defective or fuse open
2. check connector and wiring
3. air pump defective or hoses blocked

Dont be guessing and dont have a friend do it: two expensive mistakes.
Be sure to have the Owner's Manual for your year and exact model for a general guide for many things including Regular Maint Schedule. It's only a general guide bc over the years, GM will issue many Alerts, Advisories, Tech Service Bulletins, etc etc for your vehicle that can pre-empt the Owners Manual.
Your best odds for avoiding ripoffs is have only the Chevy dealer do all maint & most repairs, esp oil changes & their included multi-point vehicle inspection, a very valuable preventive service.
GM has a promotion now for Oil-filter change & maybe 37 point inspection for maybe $30, a super bargain.
As for costs for your job, there's no average bc of the variables.
Be ready for about $700. If GM hasnt seen it in years, it'l likely need more than a tune up.

That's not why the engine light is on, the light is on because something is wrong. You need to have the computer scanned and get the code. Do NOT just start putting parts in. Any parts store will scan the computer for you, get the code the post back up on what it is.
