Why is it that when using electrical devices they have a distinct smell when they are being charged?

Why is it that when using electrical devices they have a distinct smell when they are being charged?

Like when you are charging a battery or a cellphone, Then you try to smell them and they have a smell of some kind. does anyone knows what is that?

    If the charger has some components that get pretty warm, then there may be a smell from whatever they are covered with. Otherwise, this isn't normally what we expect.

    you have a very keen sense of smell or maybe even better imagination. some smell would be expected from e.g. lead acid batteries due to chemical processes going on during charging, but cellphone batteries are dry and sealed, there should be no smell(unless you overcharge them)
