I watch Fringe and I just can't figure this out. I think I may have missed something. When William Bell was alive, he was in the alternate universe. Where was his match, his alternate other self?

He died long before they tell u about it wen aliveya is standing in his office she asks him that and he says he died many years ago so the one that's on the show is from the normal world not the other he's was just able to cross back and forth like aliva can but that's how he got cancer and die and is how she was a perfect match for his sprit to take over hope I help u =) ps love that show.....

According to the FringeWiki: As explained by William at the end of Season 2, the alternate version of William was killed as a young man in a car accident; as a result, Massive Dynamic in the parallel world was never formed, instead there is only Bishop Dynamic.
