Vaginas should smell like vaginas not flowers. BUT if it smells bad to the point of making you want to vomit then I would think there is something wrong.

You should bring the subject up to her as genitally as you can.

She might have some kind of infection. You can get this kit that will measure the pH of her vagina and should tell if and what kind of infection she has. It costs around $17.

If she has either Bacterial Vaginosis or Trichomoniasis she will need to go to the doctor to get antibiotics. If she has a yeast infection you can get the treatment for that Monistat (Miconazole) at the pharmacy in the feminine care aisle.

I am 25 years old and I have never had any kind of vaginal infection. I wash my vagina with warm water in the shower. She should never douche or use feminine hygiene products because that kills the balance of good bacteria in her vagina and will make her more susceptible for getting infections and smelling worse.

I Posted this in another questions about this same topic. Mind you, some of it depends on your age. I meant it for couples. So... A lot of things can contribute to it. But cleaning just before is a good thing. And using a lot of chemical things isn't good. Just use a plain soap with no added moisturizers or scents. Added scents and chemicals just makes it worse in the long run, because it can mess up the Ph balance. Some might say a douche might help but that has to be done right. You have to be careful because there is good bacteria that's needed in there to keep the bad bacteria from spreading. If the good bacteria is cleaned out then later the bad bacteria is allowed to flourish. Making it even worse. Anyway, one thing you could both do is add it to the routine so your both always clean before going into all that. I mean if she is comfortable with letting you do it, have her show you how to clean her and stuff. It can be a sensual experience for both of you. Cleaning together is kind of a way to connect with each other. I can't imagine not doing that beforehand now.

Yeast or bacterial infections can do that. Is she having any vaginal discharge (usually white)? A dischrge increases the suspicion of infection but the absence doesn't rule it out. She might need an OB & Gyn evalustion. Vaginal Infections do have effective treaments like metronidazole, tinidzole, nystatin etc depending upon what is causing it.

Whether she is maintaining good vaginal hygine is also impotant (frequent and proper cleaning it).
