asus has no comparison with the laptops of dell brand. dell laptops are far batter then asus laptops. as especially their battery timing and long lasting performance
i m using dell inspiron e1505,
which was manufactured in 2008
and still have no issues with it.

I like both. Dell has been around for awhile, and solid. However, ASUS, has been making some quality machines as of late.
There are a lot of other things that can come into play here, like RAM, hard drive, and some other bells and whistles that will be specific to each model.
For overall satisfaction, I'd go with the Dell because of the customer support they have. Good luck on your search.

Dell are great until they break down and you have to phone their so called tech support for advice. I wouldn't touch another Dell as long as i live. Asus are pretty high up there for hardware, they make everything from mainboards to graphic cards and are pretty reliable. I would go with the Asus.

I'm an HP guy. Although, Asus is a very nice computer, dell's I've never been a fan of, customer support has always sucked for me.

Dell for me. I like the fact that it gave me a free programme that maintains my laptop. Dell is good value I have a Studio 15.

I have had nothing but trouble with the ASUS Q 500 TOUCHSCREEN LAPTOP THAT COST SLIGHTLY LESS THAN $1000.00 . The computer is still under warranty and I have sent it back to Asus numerous times but it ALWAYS RETURNS WITHOUT THE PROBLEMS BEING REPAIRED. They FINALLY AGREED TO AN EXCHANGE BUT IT CAME BACK WITHOUT A TOUCHSCREEN AND NOW ASUS DOES NOT REPLY TO MY E-MAILS!!! AS A DISABLED PERSON I AM VERY DEPENDENT ON THIS COMPUTER WHICH HAS SPENT MORE TIME IN REPAIR THAN WITH ME!! NEITHER BEST BUY WHERE I BOUGHT THE COMPUTER NOR ASUS HAS BEEN HELPFUL AND HAS MADE RESOLVING THE PROBLEMS EXTREMELY DIFFICULT!! DO NOT BUY ASUS OR SHOP AT BEST BUY!!!

I know you might laugh at my answer, but I would say Compaq.
My brother had bought me a Compaq and I thought it was going to suck.
It actually isn't that bad.
Here is a link below where you can buy all of your computer needs.
