American Airline Credit Card used for hotel?

I am going to apply for the AA credit card and was wondering if anyone has used it to pay a hotel room booked on the AA website? Or can this card only be used for flight tickets?

I'm at work so I can't make the call right now. Just wondering if someone has done this.

I did look online, but it's not specific enough. I want to be sure.

    The AA credit card is a standard credit card. I believe the issurer is CitiBank.

    It is a regular credit card -- you can use it to purchase groceries, at walmart, on AA.com, or any other place you want to use this credit card.

    -- yes you can use this credit card for your hotel booking.

    I have flown over 1million miles with American. They are my perferred airline and I am very loyal to them. There is no way I would ever get an American Airlines credit card. It's a horrible deal:

    $85 fee; 16% APR... a mileage point here or there won't make up for that.
