How do I get a replacement GPU fan?

The fan for my Nvidia gtx260m is starting to die and I want to replace it before my card gets damaged. The problem is that I can't find it anywhere. Any suggestions?

If you have decent local shop, take the card in to them and explain what you want. Most will simply sell you one you can install yourself. 4screws out and then into the new one, plug it back in and you are good to go.

If you are looking on the web, many places, such as Newegg.com and Tigerdirect.com, will gladly sell you a replacement fan, or perhaps a cooling upgrade kit. Your card is widely available and widely supported for this. Just measure the old fan carefully and buy one of the same size.

    Newegg.com

    Tigerdirect.com

There are others, many others. I prefer local shops for this type of thing as returns are much quicker. You shouldn't have to spend much more than $10 if that.

    Good luck.

measure it and find a substitute. you might have to poke a bit to figure out how to connect it -- it's usually not a huge deal

otherwise, the brand's website is your best bet -- ask question via their support function.
