Are you comfortable yet with the new points system?
I think its going to work out ok in the end but I'm having trouble trying to assess when someone is far enough behind to consider them 'in trouble'. How is everyone else doing with it?

I find it much more fan friendly.

Yes very comfortable with it. I even like the wild-card aspect. its early yet and anything could happen. so at this point I am really not focusing on who's in trouble yet. I think Kyle bush jumped up 9 positions last week, JJ -5, so I think we will see a lot of moving around in the points standings his year which is going to make it more interesting to follow. if a driver can move up 9 positions I don't see why anyone who is in the top 20 in points would be in trouble yet. 21-30 are probably in trouble. 31st down big trouble. but I haven't done the math yet so that's just a educated guess.

Yes, they made it easier for a reason, so we would understand it. Anyone who doesn't...well, I don't know what to say.
Yes, I'm very comfortable with it. I know what you mean by who is in trouble and who isn't.
I think guys like Jeff Gordon (19th in the standings) are fine right now. Gordon ran well at Las Vegas but had a tire go down and had a DNF and that's why he's so far back in the points.
Guys like Jeff Burton (29th) and Joey Logano (30th) are in trouble. Not saying they don't have a chance to make the Chase, it's still very early, but they're around 80 points behind the leaders. It'll take them a good 8-10 races just to get near the top 5 in points, if they're capable of that. (I don't think they are)

No. I have no idea how it works because I lost interest in NASCAR. The points system they had for years worked fine. All this "BRIAN FRANCE" b/s has just screwed the sport up big time. I don't even try to understand NASCAR any more. It's a joke. I've seen NASCAR for what out has turned in to and I don't like any of it.

I like it. We'll see how the Chase positions are secured. Especially the wild card positions. I'm still not too hip on that. But I figure, if there not consestent enough to get in the top 12 on points, but won there way in, there still not going to be consistent enough to battle in the Chase from 12th to 1st and win the Cup. Know what I mean? That's my take on it.

I think its much better than when Kenseth had the title wrapped up with two months left in the season. NASCAR's tweaking the points system and for the better I believe.

I know what you mean. Theres no reference point yet for how far someone can fall before you can stick a fork in them. I don't think we'll really know till about half way through the season.

Points don't mean anything until late August. If you run well you get more points than the other guys. Winner gets the most points. Not a whole lot to get comfortable with.

I like it a lot, actually. Not that the old system wasn't comprehendable, but I like the simplicity of the new system. It just makes more sense in a driver and fan aspect to me. To sum it up: It beats the heck out of the old system, in my opinion.
