Whats involved in being a Girl Scout leader?

I took my 5 yo daughter to her first Daisy meeting tonight. She had a fantastic time, and loved it!!! There isn't a troop "leader". There are girls in the 8th grade, there are 8!! of them. been in the same troop since kindergarden. They are earning badges to move forward..blah blah....blah. So..If I were to become the troop leader..what is involved? Is it very time consuming? Basically..what would I have to do?

I'm really not following you. What do you mean there isn't a troop leader. There has to be a troop leader for the troop to be meeting. A troop can not be registered without 2 non-related adults who have underwent background checks. 8th grade girls can not register as troop leaders.

It sound like something fishy is going on with this "troop". You need to talk to someone in your service unit ASAP.

As for what it takes to be a leader, while if varies a little from council to council basically you need to do the following:

    Pass a background check

register as an adult girl scout

take the following classes: new volunteer orientation, new leader training, level specific training, money management, trips and travel

To have troop you also need

    a non-related adult register as your co-leader

have someone train as a first-aider..... preferable have both one of the leaders and a non-leader registered.

Preferably have a non-leader take money management and act as troop treasurer.

From there, the amount of time it takes is up to you. You can meeting weekly, bi-weekly monthly etc. You can be a very active troop or you can do nothing beyond the regular meetings.

IMHO the best thing to do is get to know those in the service unit and council. Participate in SU and council events. Find out what activities other Daisy troops in your area have enjoyed.

    Being A Girl Scout Leader

You can’t talk a woman into bed or into a relationship. So if you’re wondering how do you get a girl interested in you when nothing you say seems to be working, the problem might be with your hands more than your words. Read here https://tr.im/lwUCD

Touch her appropriately as soon as you meet her and slowly escalate the duration and intensity of each touch. Give her time to get comfortable with your touch – if she’s not comfortable holding your hand, she’s definitely not going to be comfortable being sexual with you.

Questions contribute nothing to a conversation and tell her nothing about you. Too many questions makes it feel like a job interview. Learn here https://tr.im/rGh5I

Never ask two questions in a row. Statements can often replace questions. Instead of asking where’s she’s from, tell her where you’re from and she may respond in kind. Or guess where she’s from. It doesn’t matter if you are right; either way it’s more interesting than yet another factual question.
