Why is my transmission slow to engage ?

My 2001 Chevy Blazer transmission is slow to engage upon start up but shows no problems after its been running. this happens even in 50 degree weather. the fluid is full on the cold check. I would appreciate any ideas.

for proper use of an automatic transmission your supposed to let the car run for at least 10 seconds before trying to put it into gear so the fluid can circulate throughout the entire transmission before you start putting strain on it. you could try bringing it in and getting it flushed that can help extend the life of your transmission as well.

usually a delay would mean low fluid but since you checked that possible internal problem have it checked at trans shop you do have solenoids in this trans and none of them will cause this problem
