Tips on how to lose weight?

First, here is a bit of background knowledge:

I had a major spinal surgery last year in June and has been prevented from doing much physical activity until about November where I started winter track. The coaches at my school are crazy and I ran approximately 6 miles everyday we had practice, which is 6 days a week. Track ended, and I tried out for softball but I didn't make it, so now I have zero exercise, and I've gained 10 pounds. I already eat very well, I'm on the edge of vegetarianism, I eat many fruits and vegetables and whole grains, and a lot of tofu and soy milk.

So would this get me back to my normal weight, prior to surgery? (which was 115.)

-Eating smaller portions

-Eliminating most sugar

-Drinking more water

I only need help on what to do for exercise. I walk a lot everyday (to school, from school, or just around for no real reason) but I want to do more then that. Most of the weight I've gained has gone to my thighs. What exercises could I do for my legs?

    1) Drink lots of water: Water not only fills you up, it acts as a catalyst to help you burn more calories

    2) Instead of 3 meals, cut them up into 4-5 meals throughout the day. You're body will metabolize this more quickly.

    3) Cut down on sugar: Naturally occuring sugars in fruits and such are fine. But in any other products, sugars are usually actually corn syrup and are tough for your body to break down and will make you gain a lot of weight.

    4) Cardio: If you're going for getting "in shape" and losing weight then don't do high impact/intensity cardio like doing sprints all day. Go for a jog, quickening your pace at intervals (proven method to burn calories faster).

    5) Snacking is a good thing! Just make sure you do it the healthy way. Fruits, veggies, nuts, and low sugar cereals. Make sure you eat plenty during your actually meals though

    6) Work out soon after meals to capitalize on the calorie burning.

I'm not sure what you're getting at about the weight going to your thighs? You want to exercise them but you want them smaller and more defined I assume? Cardio, again, obviously. And also dont be afraid to lift weights! As long as you do very low weight with high repetitions you wont "get huge." Try sets of leg extension, leg curl, and pistol squats. Other than that, do some of Charlie James' workouts: http://www.youtube.com/user/charliejames1975?featu...

    Good luck!

During the summer time months, my 2 such a lot fundamental Weight Watchers ambitions are to drink tons of water and to be as bodily energetic as I can day-to-day. The bodily endeavor particularly is helping burn the energy I eat, and consuming 2 or 3 glasses of water at mealtime particularly ease the digestion and support me to consider convinced however now not too complete. Something that has particularly helped me controlled my weight and diminished meals consumption is that I take time for my foods--particularly benefit from the meals I've ready (or on the eating place). I'm additionally now not a lot of a dessert man or woman; traditionally I've had adequate time to experience and replenish at the essential direction that I simply don't have any wish for a deal with in a while--at such a lot recent fruit slices to cleanse the pallette and/or a small piece of darkish chocolate. The instances where I do like dessert are as soon as every week while I move to a cafe and savour a essential fancy confection for 20-half-hour following an appetizer (however now not a meal/entree). There's lots extra I would speak approximately, however for the sake of time, I will finish with anything I believe is paramount to wasting weight--consume your recent end result and greens. When my nutrition is stuffed with recent produce, lean proteins, lowfat dairy and entire grains, I've apparently observed that I'm now not hungry among foods and thus consume much less total (seeing that July 2004 I've misplaced approximately seventy five kilos, and it feels so well). So my fundamental suggestions are, drink tons of water, comprise bodily endeavor into your every day activities, and consume a good-balanced nutrition headquartered round recent end result and veggies. You'll be feeling excellent and competent to take at the international!

You can join an exercise club at the local gym or you can go bike riding at the beach & other things like that. If the weather gets too warm then try doing the exercises very early in the morning or late at night when the weather cools down. Good Luck with your exercise :)
