If I take my sim to a orange shop in the uk?
Will they transfer my credit and contacts to a 3G sim. Because I've just bought a 3G phone.
And how much is it?

Hi
I'd first advise to check if your current SIM card already is a 3G SIM. If you look at the long number printed on your SIM card, if the 8th and 9th digits are 30 or above, then your SIM card supports 3G. eg. 8944121302356983098 would be a 3G SIM card, wheras 8944121162356983098 would not.
If you do not have a 3G SIM card, you may be able to obtain one in store, or by calling Customer Services. Once your 3G SIM card is active, the Orange shop may be able to help with transferring your contacts to your new phone, however, I believe you would need to contact Customer Services to transfer any airtime you have remaining.
I hope this helps.

You shouldn't need a new SIM to get 3G - you should be able to pop it in the new phone (so long as both on Orange).
It could be that an easier route would be to activate data on your existing SIM. Whilst you're in the shop make sure you're on the right PAYG tariff for your projected use - data can be expensive if you're on the wrong charge plan.
