What is a good way to tell my mom about ADD/ADHD?

I'm 17 and I think I might have ADD/ADHD..but I don't really know a good way to tell my mom..I have not been to a doctor to be properly diagnosed but she told me once that a teacher called telling her to put me on ADD drugs cause I coulnd't focus. I just haven't told her yet because I don't know what she would say or if she would even believe me. I took some online tests and I have almost all symptoms of it..any help would be great thanks.

I hope you get the help you feel you might need. Being brave and talking about things that you're having difficulty with is hard but you need to raise it with your mom none-the-less ok. Head up, shoulders back, breathe properly and relax ok. I'm sure your mom will understand you and help you get help.

    Good Luck

Try something like: Hey mom, I know my teacher wanted you to have me taking pills for ADD, and I think I have it as well. (describe how terribly painful each day in school is for you) Then hit her with the fact that teachers see kids with adhd all the time and would know the disorder if they saw it. Dont be concerned in telling her, but when you do, dont bring up the online tests thing, because she wont believe you as much if she thinks you only think you have it because of those faulty tests, none of which are real BTW. I'm sure she'll respect your concern about it.

Try this: Hi, Mom. I'm having trouble focusing in school, and the teachers are suggesting I talk to a doctor. Could you help me make an appointment? I'd like to get checked out.
