Try talking to him nicely and politely, if he sees this as you undermining him, and refuses to do any of your suggestions, you could always contact workplace health and safety. You can't lose your job for something like this, it is illegal for an employer to take adverse action on you for such things.

You can say that you appreciate the company making the investment in new equipment to make your job faster, safer, and/or more efficient. Say you would like to be sure the equipment is used correctly, would it be alright with him if you called the company rep to schedule a training session for everyone who will be using it? Clearly, you don't want someone to accidentally burn it out or break it from not having correct instructions.
For your other question, without knowing more about the job, this is more difficult to answer. Does this need to be a two person job due to the strength needed to do it properly? Can one person get hurt doing it alone? Or is it that there is so much work that it needs two people to complete it in the normal time allotted? (Is the work getting done sloppily or incompletely as a result or is the one person having to stay long hours to finish?)
If it's a strength question, (say you are moving something heavy,) the manufacturer should have recommendations about how to get it moved safely. You could reasonably say to your boss, that you were looking for the most efficient way to move this, since your back was bothering you a little. And here, right in the instructions, the manufacturer suggests two people to avoid back strain.
The best way to approach your employer when you want to make a change is to identify the problem, and to find a solution ahead of time plus an alternative that will BENEFIT the boss, either in time, efficiency, safety, or cost savings. That way, you are making his job easy and you are looking like someone with the company's best interests at heart. (A good thing when it comes to promotions.)

Lol,shame on your Employer Dude sounds great "not"
Your Manager is incompetent and you find him unapproachable.
Listening to and training your staff is one of your first priorities in Management,if there are say more than 3 People doing the same job ask for a staff meeting and support each other in getting your point across.
Or you could go see him and explain that you know keeping costs down is important but you feel that you a failing to meet the Customer needs due to your reasons above and that customers walk out due to waiting times etc.
If you cannot face speaking up put it in an Anonymous letter and wait for the s**t to hit the fan,if nothing changes get a new Boss.

No, your corporation has no recourse over claiming the £6,000 lower back from you. regardless of in case you may desire to lose your activity or no longer form of relies upon. somewhat, you need to not lose it - regardless of if the corporation makes a decision to hold you to blame, they could provide you a verbal warning in line with wide-spread disciplinary strategies. in the event that they wanted to push aside you in the present day, that they had could type it as gross misconduct yet this in many cases pertains to concerns the place you have acted unethically, to no longer concerns like this the place you have made an effortless mistake - so i might say that in the event that they did attempt this, you will incredibly have a case for unfair dismissal. The business enterprise are patently refusing to settle for duty to get out of paying an exceptional or repayment. they're taking the prospect that your corporation shouldn't sue them because of the fact in the event that they have been to accomplish that, it is in all risk that their criminal costs could be greater advantageous than the £6,000 that they have got supposedly cost your corporation. yet, the reality that your corporation has asked for repayment is info that they understand which you're actually not fullyyt to blame.
