Which comics have interesting art styles ?

My 9 year old daughter enjoys cartooning, I would like to get her a few various "comics" with the exciting and impressive and different styles of art I remember seeing. It would be better if the content wasn't TOO adult ! Though I could censor some if it was!!

So, which online U.K. site do I visit to get them?

Which Titles offer a good range of different art styles?

Thanks M : )

    Try forbidden planet.

As to what to get I'd say Franco-Belgian cartoon albums right now. Tintin may still be published -- it's belgian -- and has a variety of good strips, but I'm not currently aware of an english edition though strips like Tintin itself and Cubitus (which I LOVED as a kid) are available in English. Asterix the Gaul is fun even if its magazine Pilote has apparently bitten the dust, and Spirou both the character and the magazine are still around. The late Andre Franquin's character the reporter Gaston Lagaffe was on French TV not too long ago.

Quite frankly, most of the American and British comic books I see are MUCH more formulaic than they were even twenty years ago. I would go to Forbidden Planet's web site (a co.uk site) and see what you can get of the French books in English. If possible go there and talk to someone.
