Does Rock-a-Billy come under?
the Country Music category? If you have heard Groups like Big Sandy and the Fly Right /boys.
To me they sound Country, Conway Twitty sang a lot of songs in his early music career that features Steel Guitar.Billy Haley sang rock but was a Country Artist.

Rock-a-Billy is an early form of rock and roll heavily influenced by country music,western
swing,boogie woogie and rhythym and blues.
Bill Haley &The Comets before they did "Rock Around The Clock" was a western swing
band called Bill Haley & The Saddlemen.
The famous Sun Records Company specialized in rockabilly with such artists as Elvis,
Carl Perkins,Johnny Cash,Roy Orbison,Jerry Lee Lewis among the more well known artists
and such as Warren Smith,Ray Smith,Charlie Feathers and Billy Lee Riley the lesser known.
One of the all time great rockabilly artists were The Rock and Roll Trio featuring Johnny
Burnette but never got the recognition they deserved.
Though it is revived or goes through a type of Renaissance from time to time rockabilly kind
of died out by the early 60s.
