This is a sign of a more serious infection, though it is probably caused by strep. I would request a Z pack ( azithromycin) for such a severe infection. Blood in the lungs indicates pnuemonia, but this could just be from your sinuses draining since you were lying down. Rinsing out you sinuses with sterile saline once an hour will greatly help. You can buy saline at the drugstore. Or boil 8 oz of water with 1/8 teaspoon of baking soda and 1/4 teaspoon of salt let cool to room temp.

I'm not sure if that's normal, I don't think it is anyway. If you were lying on your back and started having a nose bleed I guess blood could come out your mouth considering they're both connected.
