is car polish the same as car wax?
can i use car wax on a buffer or do i "have" to have polish as it is a car polisher buffer. is car polish just another name for car wax?
to paul: when cleaning to a newish paint wouldnt the polisher have to go through the clear top coat to reach the paint? in a sense would i have to reapply (spray) a top clear coat?

Plain wax is just a protectant you put on paint that is already glossy. Polish contains a cleaner to remove the dull, dried out paint that causes it to be dull looking.
