What does finna mean? Americans?

An American guy said to me

"I'm finna go get something to eat".

I've seen this word used in alot of things.

Does it mean "I'm going to get something to eat" ?

Thankssss! :]

I suppose it's slang for getting something. I'll never understand the over-use of such words. The occasional shortening of words or combination is fine, but not too often.

I imagine a Southern person who speaks terrible English might mean to say "Fitting to".

As in "I'm fitting to go get something to eat".

As in "I'm going to get something to eat".

    I'm American.
