Does anyone remember country singer Mel McDaniel?

......I have just heard about his passing.Another fine traditional country singer passing away.In a radio interview about 2 or 3 months ago Mel said he felt better but was not strong enough to take the stage of the Grand Ole Opry again , yet.

I will miss Mel's voice and will continue to listen to his great songs on the Cds of his I have.

I got to meet him at the Opry once. I love "Louisiana Saturday Night."

Two years ago Mel had a serious heart attack and was in a coma for some time. When I heard of his death I thought initially his heart had killed him, but the news reports said he had suffered from lung cancer.

Very sad to see him go. Prayers for his family.
