If you insure a package through USPS for $900 do they make the recipient sign for the package?

    Yes. If it's insured for over $200, a signature is required for delivery.

    Not unless you paid for signature delivery at your local USPS counter when you were actually mailing the package off to whomever. Insurance only insures the package for $900 if it gets lost by the USPS.
