Using resumes and applying for jobs?

I'm 18, on the verge of graduating this summer and going to university in August.

There's virtually no point in trying to score a job in my area, because I'll be there for like 2 months.

Once I graduate I'll have my Diploma, (G.E.D. whatever), and I suppose I'll have better chances at being hired. I figure I should ready myself for filling resumes and all that other bullshit, although I probably won't need them.

I have no problem working at a fast-food chain. And have no prior work experience and I'll only likely be able to put education on my resume. What do I put on it? What formats should I use?

    1. Send a letter of introduction to each company.

    2. Send your cover letter and résumé 1 week after your introduction letter.

    3. Call to follow up. This step is very important, It is very easy to bring your name to the top of the list if you just do a follow-up call. Don’t be afraid of being persistent! Call 4 to 5 days after sending your résumé.

The website below has more information on this and the website also has a sample resume, introduction letter, follow-up letter and etc for your job search
