What is the best way to improve my dogs' condition?

No matter how much I feed them they don't seem to gain weight. My girl dog is losing hair - I think it may be a reaction to toxins in the environment (we live in reclaimed farm land). I think the rain has released the toxins from the soil. How can I build up my dogs' condition so they can be really healthy? I already give them all natural dry dog food and an all natural middle range cold sausage meat for dogs.

Update:

Great! Thanks everyone. I know what I need to do now... (do different worm and flea treatments, on top of the monthly one they already get - Sentinel). Thanks for the Satin Balls recipe. It looks so nourishing! How do I pick a best answer when all of them have helped me?

Update 2:

P.S. Of course a vet check would be logical (if it were not so expensive) but why would I ask questions on Y!A if I could just go ask my vet?

First thing to check is has your dog been checked for worms?

If she has worms you are fighting a losing battle trying to put weight on her.

Another cause of condition in dogs is fleas so make sure she is flea free or the little suckers will take all the goodness out her. Fleas could also be the cause of the hair loss.

It may he worth getting a vet to do some blood tests to check for any underlying cause for the problem. There are several problems that could make her fail to put on weight a lot of which can be treated easily if you know what you are dealing with.

A vet health-check would be the logical first step.

If what you say about the toxins in the land is true, your dog could have cancer.,

Even if it is just worms, or some other parasite infection, the vet would give you some medication to clear it up.

Then once you are satisfied that your dog's health is ok, you can research a decent brand of kibble - maybe add a handful of boiled rice or pasta, with a bit of minced chicken or scrambled egg, and a drizzle of olive-oil..... and adequate exercise.
