There are many posts suitable for disabled people. In many cases, you have a positive advantage especially with larger firms who need to demonstrate that they are equal opportunities employers. You may also be entitled to Access to work allowance. This fund will contribute to modifications that might be needed to accommodate you and may also fund someone to help you do the parts of your job for which you need help. Eg carryiing files, photocopying etc.

    Go for it. Good luck!

If you are registered disabled and in receipt of the relevant benefits it could be a little complicated to be thinking of going back to work.

But if you were to go to Adult Education and add a CLIAT to your skills it might help. It is a simple Computer Literacy Information and Technology but would add to your computer skills and perhaps a course in Word Processing and Sage Accounts and a simple level as well. As a disabled person these courses would be virtually free as well,

The Job Centre Plus is meant to be able to assist people coming off benefits and back into work, which in theory is fine but the reality is different. They are currently re assessing people on benefits and looking to put them back on Job Seekers but some people will still find it hard to find work.

It is still down to the job market and whether employers will want to employ people.

Look at the bigger companies as well with your skills as they are duty bound to employ a certain percentage of disabled people.

...yes, of course... you could answer the telephone at your local Wal-Mart Store.
