As an Orioles fan, I don't expect anything better than second place at best. While I think the Orioles have just as much talent in the division if not the most, it hasn't developed yet. The Red Sox have players like Crawford, Pedroia, Gonzalez, and Ellsbury who are already there. Not to mention the starting pitching, they have Lester, Lackey, Beckett, Buccholz, and Matsuzaka, 5 established starters. The Orioles just aren't developed to that level yet. Matusz, Tillman, Arrieta, and just today Britton has shown tremendous talent. We've seen extended flashes of it from all of them, but I want to see them be dominant week in week out before I put them over the Red Sox. Same with Wieters and Jones. We've all heard the comparisons to Mauer and Griffey, but these two aren't there yet (nor will there be another Ken Griffey Jr.). I think we can top the yankees if everyting goes perfectly, but I still have us sitting in third place ahead of the Rays and Jays, within 10 games of the Yankees barring significant injuries.

Depends on how their 2 young pitchers develop. Without a couple aces no way they compete with Tampas staff and O's pitchers have to face a few pretty stacked lineups far too often. The O's offense is weak at best. Defense erratic and not exactly shining. Gregg is not a real closer though he plays on in O's games. Oh is but he's so fragile that no way he goes whole year without injury. No youngsters in sight. So woe is the bullpen when Oh is hurt.
Still pitching is what makes things go around. The Yankees will suffer all season long for the rotation they have built over the last few years letting good young pitchers go and replacing them with scrap heap vets. The Redsox are quite vulnerable this year. They have 2 good starters and neither of them are named Beckett. After that it's softball score time. The Jays are also relying on young pitching. They have just enough offense ot be dangerous if Tamp collapses and their pitchers take off.
I'm still picking Tampa to sail away with AL East with the Jays 2nd and a 3 way battle between the Os, Sox and Yanks for the rest of the spots.
