What Broadway show should we see?

I'm going to New York with my mom this summer, and we want to see a musical. Just one musical, but we can't decide. Which one would you recommend?

I have to say first off that I live in NYC and work in a Broadway theater and I've never heard a good thing about the Addams Family--people seem to go for the cast and that's it.

Moving on, I recommend the following shows:

-Mary Poppins (it's just good fun)

-Jersey Boys (also good fun, and possibly a bit nostalgic for your mom depending on how old she is)

-The Lion King (the costumes alone make it a show worth seeing).

-How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying (you'll have to put up with DanRad fangirls, but if you can tolerate that you'll see an entertaining, funny, traditional broadway musical)

-Priscilla: Queen of the Desert (One of the campiest and funniest shows I've ever seen. It's seriously just a huge party every night. SO incredibly fun.)

-Phantom of the Opera (no longer as technically impressive as it once was, but if you're a Phantom fan like me you will still love it)

-Book of Mormon (Hands down the funniest show on Broadway right now)

-Avenue Q (the only reason Book of Mormon is the funniest show on Broadway right now is that Avenue Q is currently playing Off-Broadway)

The Lion king is by far the most visually spectacular musical. That anyone of any age will be greatly entertained. The creativity of the costumes are too amazing to explain. The music and the dancing are equally excellent, Billy elliot is also a great musical. Addams family???....... Not!

I saw the Addam's Family in February and it was great. It put a great spin on a classic and all the songs were exciting and made the play all the more interesting. I think you and you mom would really enjoy it. The story line is great and the actors/actresses we fantastic. You should really consider seeing this, i truly truly recommend it :)

Enjoy the city and which ever musical you choose!

Um, the checklist may well be in the hundreds. i'm merely happy that "Cats" finally went to kitty heaven. EDIT: "all people Can Whistle" isn't a unfavorable instruct. It failed through fact it became into approximately non-conformity -- no longer a nicely-liked situation in 1964! And it ran for 9 days, no longer seven. in case you prefer to learn approximately flop musicals, attempt to locate a replica of the Ken Mandelbaum e book "no longer considering the fact that 'Carrie'" -- this is the two informative and intensely humorous.
