96 toyota corolla power steering problem?

I have a 96 Toyota Corolla DX Sedan 1.8L 5 speed standard transmission. It blew up a power steering pump, I bought a new one and installed it. It was leaking fluid from the connection between the air control valve and the pump. I pulled the pump out and made sure that the valve was in tight. Replaced the pump, its still leaking from the same spot and it started squealing when I turn the wheel either way. Can anyone help me out?

air control valve, on a p/s pump? You must have dropped an o ring seal.
