Files missing post virus removal?

I got the System Tool computer virus on my computer last night (still not sure what triggered it, but that is not the issue at the moment). I downloaded the RKill software to remove it and deleted the Trojan Horses from my system. When that was done and I had restarted my system, my files were still missing from my computer. The directions I was following said to download Unhide.exe and run it, which I did. This restored about 10% of the files I had on my computer. I had a few things (things for grad school and a very few pictures) saved on disks and flash drives (which I have not yet put back onto my computer), but the majority of my files and pictures seem to be gone. Even when I search from the Startup menu, I cannot find them. Do I need to take my computer to a shop and have them try to restore the files or is there something else I can do to restore these files myself? I'm able to access the internet on the computer, but I am accessing e-mail through my school computer for the time being.

Thank you so much for your help.

here are the removal instructions for system tool

you don't have system tool if you used the unhide tool

you have another bug = the name is very important so we can tell you how to fix this

You probably had the Winscan bug or the HDD Defragmenter virus removal is the same for both and they hide your files. Use the link below and follow the instructions exactly that are halfway down the page. EXACTLY, don't restart your computer and do it in safe mode or you won't remove it

    hope this helps
