a 0.50 kg ball is thrown vertically upward with an initial kinetic energy of 25 Joules. aproximately how high will the ball rise?

    KE = 1/2mv^2

    The first step is to solve for the initial velocity.

    Vf^2 = Vi^2 +2ad

    Next, using the kinematic equation above, solve for the distance the ball travels. Vf will be 0 since that will be maximum height. Vi will be the value solved previously and 'a' will be the acceleration (or in this case, deceleration) of gravity(-9.81m/s^2).
