Why is it so hard for congress to find ways to cut the spending?

Every where I look I see places to save money such as;

Fannie Mae

Freddy Mack

Dept. of Energy

IRS (Fair Tax instead)

Nat'l Endowment for the Arts

Shut them all down!

    Because everybody want to to it his/her way.

    Even the list you wrote mainly targets the poor and the middle class. And the IRS can't be cut and the Department of Energy is our future.

    Because they are all on the payroll of defense providers. Otherwise, we wold pack our S--t and brings the troops all home, thus saving trillions of dollars. Also cut out the tax cuts for the top 1 percent of taxpayers , not to mention quit giving the oil companies a tax break. Also, did you know that GE corp paid NO taxes in 2011?

    Every one of these that you mention were enacted or drastically enlarged by democratic presidents. how about social security program? yep. That too is a b.s. tool. The federal reserve bank is a privately owned organization that can print money as they need it. hell, wish I could do that. Then raise the "debt ceiling" as I see fit when I cannot repay too. must be nice.

    Congress is (currently) made up of a bunch of self centered idiots with special interests tied to their decisions.
