i want to be a patisserie chef but where to start (UK)?

i want to be a patisserie chef but don't know where to start. Do i take baking classses?diplomas?nvqs?

by the way im from london and the courses i have seen they offer only last one or two days...i want a course where in the end i would achieve the necessary qualifications that would help me get into the industry.

i have no baking background but i really really want to do this.

what do i need to do?where do i start?

like if applying for uni you do need some sort of qualifications according to the requirement entry.

You will need an apprenticeship, so ask at big hotels (they are the most likely to cook large amounts of pastry of the quality you would like to make).

If the biz in the UK is anything like that in Australia, you will have to do classes at a catering college or similar while you're working as an apprentice.

Pity you're not in France, they give their top pastry chefs medals and admission to the select ranks of the "Meilleurs Ouvriers de France", or MOFs. We don't appreciate our chefs nearly as much in the English-speaking world!
