It isn't getting any better if we don't have jobs for all the people that are unemployed due to lack of jobs, because so much of our manufacturing jobs have shut down and moved across the ocean. So that isn't good either. It is the taxpayer's responsibility to take care of the elders, and they took care of others while they worked too. However, if we cannot provide the jobs, then there isn't much money going into that fund, if it's going out in other directions too. So, we need to take a closer look at what other frivolous things might be omitted from the budget, and use that to create manufacturing jobs here again, and make sure the social security fund stays intact for those who will need it.

SS has been a wildly successful program.

It greatly reduced the poverty rate among senior citizens.

SS hasn't contributed ONE PENNY to the US debt as the SS trust fund has a surplus which partly offsets the overall federal debt and makes it appear smaller.

It should be phased out with attrition and available to people who voluntarily sign-up for it.

I would not be one of them.

    I want my money back.
