Serious belly dance instruction near Berkeley, CA?

I'm looking to get very serious, very quickly with belly dance. As in I need to condense a couple years of work into about 3 months. To whom should I go? Who is going to kick my just-barely-more-than-beginner *** into shape by August? I'd love to err on the side of tribal, but really, I just need to learn the art. I can pay for some solo classes, but I'd also probably have to err on the side of group.

Jill Parker is one of the top tribal fusion dancers/teachers and an amazing lovely lady. I've taken one workshop with her when she was in the UK.

Suhaila Salimpour is there as well.

She's really famous for her tough dance training. Many if not most tribal fusion dancers train with her. You need to condition yourself before attending an intensive workshops series.

So that's two of the top international instructors in your patch of the woods. Lucky you.

You'll need to do yoga and/or PIlates as well.

In Oakland you've got Ariellah and Frederica (the Lady Fred)

Deb Rubin is another name in Oakland that I've heard good things about

I can't see any info on classes though.

You also need to travel and go to workshops and intensives if you are really serious about the time scale. This looks amazing and is quite near you

You are so lucky. I only get workshops with one of the top dancers every couple of months. If I didn't have a partner I'd be asking for your spare bedroom and keeping you company.

I don't know any instructors in California but you can buy bellydance instruction videos at Amazon website. Search "bellydance" or "tribal bellydance" in the movies & tv section on Amazon.
