What is a SAP / ABAP Consultant?

The guy i just met says he is a self employed SAP / ABAP Consultant. I know he works with computers but what does SAP / ABAP mean?

    SAP is a German company which sells complete software solutions for companies much as IBM used to.

    ABAP is a programming language developed by SAP.

    SAP is on of the top logistic, retail and financial sstems in the world. there are many different appliations for it. Check this
