Ok, sometimes updates do not configure correctly and will never install. There are a couple of things you can try.

    1) Load into Safe Mode (Keep tapping 'F8' AS SOON AS YOU TURN THE PC ON. Then select 'Safe Mode'). You then turn off your PC as usual. This may get the updates to install. I had the same issue last week after I recovered my machine and this helped me.

    2) Go to Start > Control Panel > Windows Update (Go to Classic View on the left if you cannot see the Windows Update option). You can then install the updates a few at a time manually. By process of elimination you can work out which update/s are causing you problems.

    Hope that helps.

Click on the start button at the bottom. Type updates into the search box. Choose windows updates and it will take you to the window. You will then have the option to install updates or remove them.

This issue is common which may occur if the previous updates are not properly installed, for example, while they are downloaded in the background, you turned off the computer. This may cause incomplete information filed in the registry which can be fixed using Reginout.

Are you signed on as Administrator? Because I think you have to be to do this or install/uninstall. It`s Windows way of stopping anyone other than the top dog changing the config.

    Hope that helped, Bob.
