so that is the reason for the shut down. It should be noted that this budget should have been dealt with in October of last year, then the democrats controlled the house, senate and presidency. But they failed to pass a budget. If they had passes a budget we would not have to be dealing with it now. -... ....

Even during a government shutdown the military still gets paid, and fully funded.

shutting down the government while a democrat is in office is patriotic, but shutting down the government when a republican is in office is anti-american.

The republican congress passed a bill to finance the military til the end of October (when the 2012 budget starts) but Obama said he would veto it.
