Howlin Wolf is not a hip/ hop club! Ha! That is really funny! It is a music venue and i never heard them play any hip hop. It plays more rock and louisiana local music more than anything.
The only clubs that are just hip hop are in places you don't want to go too. Stay in safe areas.
You can try the Metro. I hate that place thought I find it very cheesy(like jersey shore cheesy) but saints players always throw parties there. Also, try the Republic they have some shows sometimes. Juvenile played there. Both are in the warehouse district close to the quarter and safe.
