Why do women like Jerks?

A lot of women want excitement and the good men are just not exciting enough for them. Some women think they need to go out boozing and carousing all the time, well, you don't find good men there, they are jerks and a lot of them would go home with any woman. The good men are married at a young age and hopefully by a good woman who will keep them from not needing to go to the bars. It a two way street. Men and women have to..... not give 50/50, but 200/200. They don't understand that. Women don't want a man who just goes to work, comes home, eats, and sits in front of the tv. That man is not exciting. She wants one who makes arrangements to do fun stuff like vacations and go out to eat, etc. So you see, there is a fine line between jerks and bums. Men just have to find out where that fine line is. It's not all the fault of the women, but the do need to feed into the relationship. Money is a big factor in how the jerks are viewed. Pairing up is a compatibility based system though some women have learned the hard way to tolerate the jerks because they give them something they want and with most women, that is something differnt...

Women Like Jerks

It depends not ALL women like jerks. Every women has different tastes and different types of men that they will go for but yes some do like jerks I guess the 'bad boy' name sounds quiet thrilling and stimulating.

Because jerks are fun and interesting. Women want to feel powerful by "taming" the bad boy. Plus bad boys put women in their place. They say they want decent guys because either they've been used up by the bad boys and need a sucker to clean up the mess they call their lives. And because they know that every man they convince to be a nice guy is another sucker for the sisterhood to put in the friend zone and exploit.

So... Are you telling me that when my ex-wife divorced me, I was not a jerk... But she said I was a jerk and a loser and I can't write the other words in a Yahoo! Answers reply...

Although, my Mother did not marry a jerk... My Dad was a great man who was loved by all and he was never referred to as a jerk...

In regard to your serious question, this is something that has troubled me in the past, too. But, by the same token, many good men are attracted to so-called bad women, who are the fruit of the loins of parents just like bad men. In truth, I have learned that bad men and women are the products of bad parenting or they are possessed by the devil. For good men and women there are other good men and women, too. Therefore, I have learned to steer clear of bad women in favor of being patient until a good woman comes along... This is some good advice for women, too... Yet, at 61 years of age and free of being nagged by someone like my ex-wife became, I would be insane to sacrifice my gift of freedom that my ex-wife gave me when she divorced me... Who's #1, be careful that you do not judge others too harshly... Remember there are more fish in the sea and a good catch is in your future.

Clearly women are attracted to obnoxious, selfish men. Look who they are married to! Even Death Row inmates have girlfriends. I honestly do not understand how this works. Why are women not seeking good men? Enlighten me please.

I think it's one of two reasons or a combo of these. It's a primitive instinct -or- They don't think much of themselves.

Edit: But on the subject of middle-age dating in general..for men and women, the solution may be as simple as putting oneself in 'harms way' so to speak. Getting off the sidewalk and into traffic. Our society/way of life in the west makes it very easy for us to insulate (isolate) ourselves. Plus let's face it, it takes a lot of energy and a certain commitment many aren't willing to make for whatever reason. We all have baggage and we all have old wounds that never heal completely.

Somewhere (out here in cyberspace) there are a thousand women looking for a guy just like you. They're asking questions of their 'online girlfriends' similar to the one you're asking here.

Insecure in their own personalities . Associating with Jerks fills their void by taking their minds off their` personal issues` ! This allows them to reflect and realize their lives weren`t so bad after all without a Jerk !

I don`t think its so much that we like jerks. I think it`s not respecting ourselves (low self-esteem). We give a lot as women, and sometimes we let a few imperfections get in the way of truly enjoying our lives. I need you to go back a little and think of something. Think of the first time you ever had your feelings hurt, then think of the first time someone made you laugh. Replace that pain with the laugh. Think to yourself how great you are. Once we realize our greatness we will start to be attracted to the right people who will build us up.

Keep your head up and know in your heart no one is better than you are.

With some it is about change. Women always find a better side and tend to not look at the worse.

They feel they can change that by being caring, loving etc., and that person will change.
