Why don't petrol heads fanatically support electric vehicles?

I love gas engines. I love the roar and the power, the experience of tuning it to perfection and taming the beast inside.

I love them so much I wish more people would drive electric cars so there can be more sauce for me and my fellow car guys in the future!

If you like gas, that's great, so do I, but why do you want EVERYONE to be driving on gas? Save some for us right?

Support gasoline by driving and promoting electric!

Some may consider it insincere for you to advocate something you don't personally want for yourself, but it is not as though you don't see the advantages for electric vehicles. Within their driving parameters they are entirely workable and could be very economical.1 Unlike you I rather dislike my petrol vehicle. I dislike every stop at the gas station. I dislike every time I step on the brakes and I see dollars flying out the windows. I begrudge the need for oil changes and tune ups. I wish the vehicle did not have to undergo emissions testing. I would bend my lifestyle for an electric vehicle if more were only available. But I would also advocate for your freedom to choose a petrol vehicle for your next car.

Not everyone feels this way. Some require that you think exactly like they do or the herd mentality requires that they reject you as a heretic. If burning at the stake were still popular we would be in trouble. For them "freedom" means only the freedom to be what they want you to be.

Independent thinkers who crunch the numbers will be found in corporate fleets, the military and in government as these bodies see the writing on the wall. They are embracing electric vehicles. It is the independent consumer that is being treated like they do not have the capacity to understand what is happening in our world. It is the consumer that is being told not to look behind that curtain as they are manipulated by various factions. It is the consumer that wants everything and wants to give up nothing.

Actually there is more support than you might realize.

There is a place for both, and considering the size of the oil and gas industry, they will have sway over what choices people have worldwide, and it will include both.

I do not know too many people who are totally opposed to electric cars, they just realize they are not a suitable answer for everyone. Plus you have to admit that a few that look like a Dr Seuss vehicles are just not going to be widely accepted by everyone. They are great for an urban pizza delivery schema, but you are not about to strap a water heater to the roof of one and make a living as a plumber.

What must be overcome is the propaganda and programing of kids. They get it from the media and school in such large doses it is no wonder we see some of the questions that we do see here.

At this time electric vehicles are completely not particle you drive 40 miles at best without a/c or heat much less if you use them then you have to recharge for 6 hours to go another 40 miles. I live in Tucson AZ and i go to LA from time to time instead of 7 hours it would take me a week along with hotel expenses while charging. Also are electric grid is stressed already if let's say 20 million electric cars are charging over-nite what would that do it would be nice if they could charge during the day on solar but most people work during the day not workable.

Wow, so many misconceptions about electric cars! My neighbor has always been a huge electric car buff, and he actually owns 5 different EVs. One of them is a modified F150 With over 200 HP that can tow just about anything, and a 100 mile range!

Another is a converted Porsche that actually gets about 150-200 miles on a charge, and performs quite like a Porsche should.

In the city where I live (Tempe, AZ) they are actually installing light posts where you can charge your EV for free!

Electric cars are expensive to procure, especially just for commuting back and forth to work.

Electric cars are small and deadly to the occupants when in a crash

Grandma's electric car could smoke your muscle car in a drag without making a sound.

Fortunately, there is a place for both. The muscle car for you and the electric for grand ma.
