what color should i paint my car?

I just got a 1990 buick skylark.

its a 4 door hard top

im 17 years old... i really like the idea of a flat black. but i cant picture it on the car... i also have a really hard time seeing any color look good on this particular model..

the exterior of the car is horrible so we are sanding it down to the metal, and then repainting from scratch. any ideas?

It's all personal preference my friend, but I wouldn't do flat black but that's just an opinion. Flat black does look good in the right circumstances but you are spending a lot of elbow grease and time prepping the car and flat black will look unfinished. Also consider that flat color is well flat. Cannot wax it and cleaning will be hard to do as well. What do you think about a darker hue of red? Check out something along the lines of a darker red an example would be Ford's Redfire Metallic. One other thing to consider is interior color, pick something that will go with the interior unless you plan on changing it or don't really care about matching. One other suggestion if you are painting this yourself and don't have a lot of experience at painting auto parts stores like Autozone sell paint that is ready to spray strait out of the can. No need to add thinners etc. They sell this paint in red, blue, black, etc. Take care and good luck!!

I could advise maintaining the fashioned colour of the auto. Also, you may also now not ought to paint the complete auto, however alternatively handiest particular panels, even as the relaxation of the auto can also be polished out. Don't waste cash on replacing colour on a auto (until cash is not any item to you). Go to a authentic car frame retailer for an estimate. Good success!

Ive seen this car in flat black. Lets just say you don't want to do that, at all. No really don't. It looks like **** and makes you look a bit like an idiot. The best colors for that car... white, basic red like this http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.bui... or a blue similar to this. http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://images....

after that it just looks ridiculous. Trust me on this one.
