Why is it that sometimes I submit an answer only to be faced with the "this question has been deleted" screen?

It also happens sometimes when I ask a question.

The question or answer is never deleted btw.

I use an iPhone, could it be to do with that fact?

...

Update:

Funny, a lot of folks are using the back button or refreshing but from that screen I click "my activity" and it's right there - already submitted.

...

Update 2:

((((toker)))))

Yeah I've been horrified to see that one too!

Update 3:

It's a Yahoo glitch, it does it to me too sometimes, and I'm using my laptop.

I just hit the back button and re-submit and it goes.

Most of the time it happens on Monday and Tuesday, more so on Monday mornings.

It's the result of the *ahem* Y!A "Team" coming in to work with a hangover and a bad attitude every Monday morning.

It's a glitch. Use the back button and hit "submit" again. It always goes through the second time, unless the question really has been deleted.

It's not the iPhone, darling...it happens to me all the time, and I'm on my laptop.

It has been happening for a while - it's quite annoying, but as long as you refresh in some way, the answer is usually submitted.

I figure it's just the Yamster messing with our heads.

I believe that's a canned response in Yahoo's server, which it goes to whenever it has trouble responding to a page request quickly. (There's another one that declares Yahoo "temporarily unavailable.")

Purely because it's taking too much time to retrieve the page, the server puts out that answer because

    (a) any answer, even a wrong one, gets that request off its queue of things to do; and

    (b) it's short and readily at hand, which a page containing your answer is not because the version containing your answer takes time to format.

I don't think the iPhone is a factor; I get it using computers with browsers. The conditions that cause it are at Yahoo's end, not ours.

That happens to me too. Stupid Yahoo glitch. Refreshing the page usually clears it.

Glitch...I just use refresh & boom all is well & your answer is right where it should be.

I was getting a similar glitch when I'd go to my profile page, except it was the GULP message...had me worried for a bit, but it quit.

I don't really know. But it is a great example of how faith works. Despite appearances, you know the answer is going to be posted. How? You have come to learn that you can't trust how something looks at first.

back browser button (don't hit the go back button, you will lose your content) and submit again. It usually goes through

    Just a glitch

Happens to me all the time.

    No idea why.

You answer a question, it says deleted, you check back later and it's back.

    Weird...

EDIT : Just read the previous answers. Mystery solved.
