Syncing computer to iPod after reinstalling iTunes?

I had a nasty computer virus and had to have my hard drive wiped. Now I have an iPod full of songs and a completely empty iTunes library. If I plug in my iPod what will happen? Will it automatically sync or will I have a chance to not sync and copy my music to my library?

Thanks!

Update:

Okay, what about if I plug my iPod into another computer that does not have iTunes on it and transfer the files onto that? Would that work the same?

    Go to this website: bit.ly/musicrescue

    First, get iTunes.

Second, download the trial version of Music Rescue at that website.

Third, don't open iTunes or it may get rid of all your music.

Fourth, plug your iPod in and run Music Rescue. An ad saying to buy the full version will pop up every 50 songs or so but just close it and it'll keep transferring your music.

This was the only program that I found that would do this for free after I looked for a long time to find one. Enjoy :D

This has happened to me before. It will completely wipe out the songs, since it automatically syncs once you plug it in. I don't really know what to tell you other than that I advise you to write down all of the songs before it happens. The first time (on my mp3), my computer had crashed and I had no way of fixing it. At the time I was playing with my mp3 and learned what format means... it wasn't good. All 600 songs were gone.

I hope you de-authorized your computer before you wiped your hard drive. I also hope you backed up the music you did not buy through the program on an external hard drive or usb drive or that music is gone. btw external hard drives are cheap now, get one if you dont have one already.
