Dr. Tomorrow or ER tonight? 7 year old with headache, neck pain, eye sensitivity, throwing up.......HELP!?
Okay, I only ask opinions because everyone tells me I overreact over EVERYTHING. My daughter is seeing her pediatrician tomorrow, but I am wondering if I should take her to the ER tonight. Yesterday she started complaining of a headache and that her eyes hurt. (She has never really had a headache before) She then started throwing up. (She has only thrown up a few times since yesterday) What is making me nervous is that she says her neck hurts when she puts her chin to her chest (yes I do the side to side and up and down test for meningitis) She also got dizzy a few times today and couldn't say the word "thermometer" (which she can say). Her headache is pretty much gone but her other symptoms are still very much there. She has been sleeping ALL day long, which is unlike her, sick or well. As her mom, I am worried because she just doesn't get sick...So I don't know if I am overreacting because this is the sickest she has ever been, or if something more serious is going on......any experiences? Please advise would be great.........................

I would definetly take her to the ER. If a child has a fever acompanied with a headache for more than 2 days the it may be a sign that something is wrong. With a stiff neck I would get her tested for spinal meningitis. I'm not a doctor but if she were my child I would take her in right away.

It sounds like it could have been a really bad migraine, but i don't know about the neck pain, I've always been told to get medical attention for neck pain unless its a pulled muscle or something
